How to Play Pickleball:

1. Game Setup:

   • Each game is played as singles (one-on-one) or doubles (two-on-two). The game begins with the server standing behind the baseline to serve.
   • The serve must be underhand and hit below the waist, landing in the opponent's service box. The ball must bounce once on each side of the net before players can start volleying.

2. Hitting the Ball:

   • After the serve, players must let the ball bounce once before hitting it. Every rally must have at least one bounce on each side before volleys (hitting the ball in the air without a bounce) can occur.
   • Players must avoid hitting the ball in the "kitchen" (the non-volley zone) unless the ball has bounced in this area first.

3. Kitchen Rule:

   • The kitchen is the 7-foot area from the net. Players cannot hit the ball while standing in the kitchen unless the ball has already bounced. This rule prevents excessive net play and ensures more strategic, controlled rallies.

4. Scoring:

   • Pickleball typically uses an 11-point or 15-point scoring system (the winner must be at least 2 points ahead).
   • Only the serving team can score points. When the serving team faults (e.g., hits the ball out of bounds), the serve goes to the opposing team.
   • Games can be played to a set number of points (usually 11 or 15), and can be played in a single game or multiple games.

5. Game End:

   • The game ends when one team reaches the set number of points and is at least 2 points ahead.
